Tutoring
Math is hard, right? Well, yes and no. Everyone has different needs in a math course; for many, math is very natural. But many others need personal instruction in order to get the concepts down.
I’ve yet to have a student who was unable to pass my course, but I’ve seen many who really could have benefited from the extra help a tutor could provide: there’s just not enough time during lecture and office hours for the instructor to help everyone to the level that they need.
I am available for tutoring any Auburn University student for many math courses offered here, provided I am not currently his or her instructor. These courses include any math class before and including Calculus II, as well as Intro to Advanced Math and many other advanced math courses.
Here are some excerpts of instructor reviews given by students I taught in Calculus II in Spring 2010:
He explains the material well and actually cares about the well being of his students.
Great explanations of theory.
Very good teacher; explains things well!
A highly effective and friendly instructor.
Steven rocks!
One of the best instructors in four years of college. Did a very good job of balancing control of the class and keeping the mood light and lively, and conducive to learning.
Steven Clontz, AKA Super Clontz, is the man. He once taught his german shepherd to speak Spanish – that is how good of a teacher he is. :-)
(Although I admit I’m not sure I can back up the claim that last student made.) :-D
I charge $20 per hour for tutoring sessions up to Calculus I, and $25 per hour for Calculus II and any other advanced course. Also, I’ll hold your first session of tutoring for just $10 per hour (up to two hours).
If you’re interested, email me at steven.clontz@gmail.com and I’ll get back with you as soon as possible.
PS: If you ARE currently my student, email me and I can recommend another good tutor for you.
